ALBANY, N.Y. –  Russell Sage College senior middle hitter Andrew Samson (Queens, NY/Pathways) was named the New England Collegiate Conference Men's Volleyball Rookie of the Week for the period ending Sunday, April 3.

Samson averaged 1.82 points per-set across three matches last week. He registered 1.27 kills per-set on .257 hitting and seven total blocks in the 2-1 week. The middle hitter totaled eight kills on .400 hitting and three total blocks in Saturday's victory at NVU-Johnson.

Looking ahead, RSC (6-23) plays at Eastern Nazarene on Tuesday in the first round of the NECC Championship Tournament. Opening serve is set for 7:00 pm.
