Gators tripped up by Nazareth in UVC Action

Pittsford, NY— The Sage College men's volleyball team travelled to Nazareth College for a United Volleyball Conference match with the Golden Flyers. Nazareth earned the 3-0 win, besting Sage, 25-10, 25-17, 25-16. The Golden Flyers are now 10-9 overall and 2-4 in the league, while Sage falls to 6-12 overall and 1-6 in the UVC.

Sage junior outside hitter Shane Wenz (Valatie, NY/Ichabod Crane) led the Gators with his 7.5 points after hitting .308 with five kills, one dig, a pair of solo blocks with a block assists and was 15-1 on reception attempts.

Gator co-captain Mike Basile (Feeding Hills, MA/Agawam) added team-best seven kills while also picking up 7.0 points with 2 digs and was a perfect 20-0 on reception attempts and had a .278 attack percentage in the match.

Sophomore setter Ryan Jennings (North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick Township) racked up 17 setting assists with a kill and 2 digs for the Gators.  

Senior co-captain Zackery Karl (West Monroe, NY/Central Square) added three kills and three digs for the Sage in the match.

Sage is back in action on Saturday, March 9 taking on Medaille College at 11 a.m. in the Nazareth College campus.
