Guyton selected as Skyline Player of the Week

Albany, NY- The Sage Colleges' men's volleyball player, junior Ryan Guyton (Lockport, NY/Lockport) earned Skyline Conference men's volleyball player of the week. For the week, Sage went 2-1 and is now 10-8 on the season.

Guyton hit .342 over three matches in eight sets played for the Gators.  He averaged 4.88 kills, 2.0 digs and 0.5 total blocks per set, while hitting .400 (17-3-35) to go with five digs, one block assist and one service ace at Wells. He collected 25.5 points in a four-set triumph over Lehman with 21 kills (.308), two service aces, three blocks (two solo) and nine digs. On the season, he has a 3.69 kills per set average ranks No. 2 in the conference, while his .313 hitting percentage sits in fourth on the season leaderboard.

Guyton boasts 927.5 career points while adding 715 career kills. He ranks No. 4 all-time in kills, while ranking third all-time in points and is poised to become just the third player to achieve 1,000 career points. With the release of the latest NCAA Division III statistics, he ranks in five categories, including a No. 15 ranking in kills per set average, as well as a No. 48 national ranking with his 0.43 aces per set average.  He is 44th in attacks per set average (7.69), 49th in hitting percentage. He is 11th in the country with a 4.33 points per set average as he leads the Sage squad with his 199 kills.  

Sage is back in action on March 18 hosting Hunter College and Penn State-Behrend in a non-conference tri-match with matches at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. in Kahl Gym.
