Sage Men’s Volleyball Selected Third in Skyline Preseason Poll

NEW YORK – The Sage men's volleyball program was ranked third in the 2017 Skyline Preseason Coaches Poll Monday morning.

After ending last season in the Skyline semifinals, the Gators tallied 60 points in the poll along with one first place vote.

Kean, the defending Skyline Champion, topped the table with 81 points and nine first place votes. Ramapo was tapped second with 70 points, while NJCU took the last spot in the top four with 55 points.

Rounding out the 10-team field were Mount Saint Vincent (51 points), Purchase (38 points), St. Joseph's-Long Island (36), St. Joseph's-Brooklyn and Yeshiva (24), and Sarah Lawrence (11).

Head coach Bob Verhayden, last year's Skyline Coach of the Year, returns seven starters from last year's 15-20 squad, including all-conference selections in Ryan Guyton (Lockport, NY/Lockport) and Bailey Cecchi (Agawam, MA/Agawam) along with Sage men's volleyball Gator of the Year, Casey Fitzpatrick (Haverhill, MA/Haverhill).

The Gators begin their season Sat., Jan. 21 at MIT. Sage is set to take on Emmanuel at 1 p.m. followed by MIT at 3 p.m.
