Sage drops tough match to Bard in men's volleyball action

Annandale-On-Hudson, NYThe Sage Colleges' men's volleyball team travelled to Bard College for a non-conference match on Wednesday night. The Raptors posted the 3-1 win topping the Gators, 25-20, 25-22, 22-25, 25-21) to improve to 8-13. Sage drops to 13-18 on the year.

Sage's sophomore Ryan Guyton (Lockport, NY/Lockport) led the Gators with his 22 kills, while adding seven digs with three total blocks.  

Sophomore Bailey Cecchi (Agawam, MA/Agawam) racked up nine kills and eight digs, while making just one error in 31 reception attempts. Junior Chris MacArthur (Hillsdale, NY/Taconic Hills) added eight kills for the Gators with four digs and two block assists.

Sophomore Casey Fitzpatrick (Haverhill, MA/Haverhill) tallied 31 setting assists with 11 digs, while sophomore libero Melvin Tejada (Springfield, MA/Springfield Central) had 11 digs for the Gators.

Guyton, who last week broke Sage's career ace record, now has 109 career aces. He is No. 5 with his 471 career kills, while standing No. 5 in points with 638 points. Cecchi has moved to the No. 4 spot with his 639 career points and is No. 3 with 535 career kills. Fitzpatrick is No. 4 now in career setting assists with 678, while adding 400 career digs which ranks No. 5. Senior Anthony Gerace (East Greenbush, NY/Columbia) is No. 3 all-time in career setting assists as he has 739.

Sage hosts the final Skyline Conference tri-match of the season on April 2 in Kahl Gym as St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn and Kean University visit the Gators. Sage will face St. Joseph's at 2 p.m. and the Cougars at 6 p.m. Prior to the first Sage match of the day, Sage will honor their seniors, Peter Fabrykiweicz and Anthony Gerace.
