Sage Men's Volleyball squad takes a split in Skyline Play

NEW YORK – Ryan Guyton and Bailey Cecchi combined for 48 kills as Sage split with Mt. St. Vincent and Yeshiva. Mt. St. Vincent won 3-1 (25-21, 22-25, 25-23, 25-18) while the Gators beat Yeshiva 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-11).

In match one against Mt. St. Vincent (5-11, 4-3 Skyline), Guyton recorded 17 kills and 20.0 points with Cecchi adding 12 kills and 13.5 points for Sage (8-13, 5-3 Skyline). Melvin Tejada had seven digs and Casey Fitzpatrick recorded 38 assists. Tyler Cucullu had a team-high 14 kills and 16 points for Mt. St. Vincent.

Cecchi scored 12 kills with a .611 hitting percentage against Yeshiva (2-11, 2-6 Skyline) while Anthony Gerace recorded 14 assists. Itai David Guttman recorded four kills and 5.5 points for Yeshiva.

Guyton and Cecchi each had 24 kills and seven digs on the day. Guyton had a .429 hitting percentage with five aces while Cecchi had a .240 hitting percentage. Chris MacArthur added ten kills and 11.5 points.

Fitzpatrick recorded 45 assists and a career-high seven aces. On the defensive end, Tejada recorded 10 digs with Gerace adding eight of his own. Austin Laverty had a team-high five total blocks with Zachary Karl adding four.

The Gators are currently in third place in the Skyline behind Kean (13-5, 5-0 Skyline) and Ramapo (9-8, 7-1 Skyline).

Sage returns to Kahl Gym on Wednesday night to take on Vassar College at 7:00 p.m.
