Guyton Receives Second Skyline Player of the Week Honor

NEW YORK – Ryan Guyton (Lockport, NY/Lockport) was named the week five Skyline Player of the Week. This is the sophomore's second weekly honor as he was named the week two Player of the Week.

Guyton was instrumental in Sage's 3-2 (3-1 Skyline) week that moved them up to 3rd in the Skyline. The captain registered a .310 hitting percentage and averaged 3.40 kills, 0.67 aces, 1.53 digs and 0.67 blocks over 15 sets played. Guyton put down double-digit kills on Elms, Mt. St. Vincent and St. Joseph's (Bklyn). In Sage's nail-biting 3-2 loss to Elms, the outside hitter posted a season best 25.0 points on 18 kills, five aces and three total blocks.

Guyton currently ranks among the best in service aces in the NCAA Division III. His 43 total aces and 0.69 aces/set ranks him 2nd and 12th respectively. The sophomore also currently ranks in multiple Skyline statistical categories such as aces/set (1st, 0.69), total aces (1st, 43), total points (1st, 208), total kills (2nd, 156), points/set (4th, 3.71), kills/set (5th, 2.79) and hitting percentage (8th, .258).

Sage's next match is on the road for a Skyline tri-match at Yeshiva. The Gators will play Yeshiva at 1:00 p.m. and Mt. St. Vincent at 3:00 p.m.
