Sage Sweeps Mt. St. Vincent and NJCU

RIVERDALE, NY – Ryan Guyton (Lockport, NY/Lockport) led the way with 21 kills and four blocks as Sage swept Mt. St. Vincent 3-0 and NJCU 3-0 in Skyline action play.

Adding to Guyton's team-high kills, Bailey Cecchi (Agawam, MA/Agawam) and Zachary Karl (Central Square, NY/Central Square) added 17 and 10 kills respectively. Austin Laverty (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) had an impressive 1.333 hitting percentage on four kills while Casey Fitzpatrick (Haverhill, MA/Haverhill) had a .857 hitting percentage on six kills. Guyton and Cecchi also combined for eight service aces in their strong offensive performances.

Fitzpatrick led in the assist category with 36 assists. On the defensive end, Cecchi and Melvin Tejada (Springfield, MA/Springfield Central) each had 15 digs. In addition to Guyton's four blocks (2 BS, 4 BA), Fitzpatrick totaled four blocks (2 BS, 4 BA) with Cecchi adding 3.5 (2 BS, 3 BA) blocks of his own.

Sage moves into third in conference play with a 7-12 overall and 4-2 conference record.

Sage's next match is on the road for a Skyline tri-match at Yeshiva. The Gators will play Yeshiva at 1:00 p.m. and Mt. St. Vincent at 3:00 p.m.
