The second clinic is the Hitter/Setter Clinic on Wednesday, June 25. This will be separate from the Technical Advancement Clinic but there will be an available discount for registering for both clinics. The Hitter/Setter Clinic will allow a full day devoted to setter school and hitting mechanics and fundamentals. This will be a great opportunity for players to develop their skills more thoroughly before the 2014-15 high school seasons, and allow them to hone their skills in an isolated learning atmosphere.

The Morning Session from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. will separate hitters from setters, allowing for instructors to break down the mechanics of each position, specify opportunities for improvement or correction on a personal level.

Setters will partake in high repetition drills, breaking down the techniques and strategies necessary to become a well-rounded setter, including footwork, proper 'hands,' jump setting, and setter attacks. They will also learn skills they can do on their own time to improve dexterity, proper ball release, and hand-eye coordination.

Hitters will work on arm swing mechanics, footwork, ways to increase jump height, offensive transitioning, and much more. High repetitions will be key to building consistency and muscle memory.

The afternoon session from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. will be combined, consisting of drills and play simulation, in order for setters and hitters to develop strong communication and on court chemistry. The Setter/Hitter relationship is one of the most important aspects of a successful volleyball team and allowing that relationship to grow and develop during the off season can be a key factor in becoming a better volleyball team.
