Gators drop decision to Kean in Skyline action

Union, NJ – The Sage Colleges' men's volleyball team travelled to Kean University, the defending league champions for a Skyline Conference match. The Gators dropped a 3-0 decision to the Cougars (25-12, 25-20, 25-19). Kean improves to 13-6 overall and 6-0 in the league, while Sage drops to 3-11 overall and 2-5 in the league. The match marked the return of Sage's head coach Jimmy Pompeo to his alma mater after graduating from Kean in 2013 and was a letterwinner for the Cougars.

Sage's senior captain Dylan Krowicki (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) racked up 14 kills and had a .385 hitting percentage on the night. He had just two errors in 20 receptions for a .909 reception percentage with four digs. Senior setter Matthew DeGeyter (Hudson, NY/Hawthorne Valley) had 22 setting assists with eight digs, while and three kills

Rookie Chris MacArthur (Hillsdale, NY/Taconic Hills) added five kills with no errors in his nine receptions in the action. Senior setter Matthew DeGeyter (Hudson, NY/Hawthorne Valley) had 28 setting assists with four digs and three kills.  Senior libero Cory Gransbury (Round Top, NY/Cairo-Durham) added eight digs, while Senior setter Matthew DeGeyter (Hudson, NY/Hawthorne Valley) had 28 setting assists with four digs, while rookie Chris MacArthur (Hillsdale, NY/Taconic Hills) connected for four kills with four digs and a block assists.   

Sage returns to action on March 7-8 competing at the Endicott College Invitational where they will face Rivier College, Endicott College and Emmanuel College.
