Gators wrap play at Keuka Tournament

Keuka Park, NY – The Sage Colleges' men's volleyball team travelled to Keuka College and competed in the Keuka Invitational. Keuka opened the event with a 3-0 win over Sage (26-24, 25-23, 25-18). The Gator then faced Wells College, but dropped a 3-0 decision (26-24, 25-18, 25-17). In the final match, Sage fell to Penn State Altoona, 3-0 (25-17, 25-10, 25-19). Sage stands at 0-4 on the season.

Against Keuka, senior captain Dylan Krowicki (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) added six kills with seven digs. Junior middle hitter Jeffry Hoessle (Coxsackie, NY/Coxsackie-Athens) added five kills with two solo blocks and two block assists.  Senior setter Matthew DeGeyter (Hudson, NY/Hawthorne Valley) added 17 setting assists with 10 digs. Senior libero Cory Gransbury (Round Top, NY/Cairo-Durham) added 12 digs for the Gators.

Against Wells, Sage's Krowicki picked p 10 kills and nine digs, while adding an ace and three total blocks. DeGeyter contributed 18 setting assists with five digs. Gransbury added 13 digs.

In the final outing, Sage got eight kills from Krowicki, while Gransbury connected for 11 digs. DeGeyter added 13 setting assists with eight digs.  

The Gators will be back in action on February 10 hosting Ramapo College in the team's Skyline Conference opener at 7 p.m. in Kahl Gym.
