Albany, NY--- The Sage Colleges’ men’s volleyball team and its members are amongst the national NCAA Division III statistical leaders with the release of the first statistical rankings. Sage, which is 12-4 on the year is ranked nationally in seven team categories, while several players rank in the national Top 40 statistically, including three in the Top 10.

The Gators are riding a riding a seven-match win streak, an active program record and stand at 702 in the Skyline Conference. Sage ranks fifth nationally in win percentage .750, while ranking 13th in digs per set (10.73), 14th in kills per set (10.96), 14th in assists per set (10.07), 15th in aces per set (1.29), 15th in hitting percentage (.215), and 16th in blocks per set (1.96).

Among the 2012 team members nationally ranked are junior setter Kyle Ray (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) as he ranks sixth in setting assists per set (9.62) and 23rd in aces per set (0.34).

Junior middle hitter Spencer Hilland (Slingerlands, NY/Bethlehem Central) ranks seventh in kills per set average (3.46), while ranking 12th in blocks per set (0.96), 30th in digs per set (2.09), and 30th in hitting percentage (.277).

Sophomore Scott Fitzgerald (Hudson Falls, NY/Queensbury) ranks in four categories as he us 10th nationally in aces with his 0.53 per set average. He checks in 35th nationally with a 0.7 blocks per set average, 38th with a 2.4 kills per set average and 40th in hitting percentage (.234).

Sophomore Dylan Krowicki (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) is also ranked 16th in kills per set (3.20), 30th in digs per set (2.09) and 32nd in hitting percentage (.268).

Sophomore middle hitter Connor Thompson (Delmar, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) ranks 38th in blocks per set with a 0.67 per set average.

Sage will be back in action travelling to Kean University on March 4, where they will face Ramapo College and Purchase College in a pair of Skyline Conference contests. New Jersey City University will also be in action next on March 4 at the College of Mt. St. Vincent for a quad match where they will face both NYU-Poly and Mt. St. Vincent.
