Sage continues to rank among NCAA's men's volleyball stats leaders

Albany, NY--- The Sage Colleges' men's volleyball team and its members are amongst the national NCAA Division III statistical leaders with the release of the fourth statistical rankings. Sage, which is 14-5 on the year is ranked nationally in six team categories, while several players rank in the national Top 50 statistically. The 2012 Gators have already equaled the program mark for most wins and will look to establish a new mark when they take to the court this weekend.

Sage ranks ninth nationally in win percentage .737, while ranking 13th in digs per set (10.52), 22nd in assists per set (10.19), 23rd in kills per set (11.07), 26th in blocks per set (1.95), 24th in hitting percentage (.214), and 26th in blocks per set (1.95).

Among the 2012 team members nationally ranked are junior setter Kyle Ray (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) as he ranks 12th in setting assists per set (9.54). Ray checks in with a team-best 639 setting assists, while connecting on 93 digs and 22 aces this season. He continues to add to his active career record as he now has 1,350 career setting assists.

Junior middle hitter Spencer Hilland (Slingerlands, NY/Bethlehem Central) ranks in four different categories. He is 15th in kills per set average (3.46), while ranking 21st in blocks per set (0.93), 48th in hitting percentage (.264), and 49th in digs per set (2.03). Hilland also has a team-best 62 total blocks and has now racked up 472 career kills with 123 total blocks and 238 digs, while wearing a Sage uniform in 132 sets played.  

Sophomore Scott Fitzgerald (Hudson Falls, NY/Queensbury) ranks 20th in aces per set with a 0.45 per set average. Fitzgerald leads Sage with his 30 aces and has 152 kills and 123 digs. He also has 42 total blocks in 67 sets played this season.  

Sophomore Dylan Krowicki (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) is also ranked 19th in kills per set (3.29) and 32nd in digs per set (2.14). He is also 40th in hitting percentage with a 0.274 average.  Krowicki has 217 kills on the season with a team-best 141 digs. He has 21 blocks with a 3.29 kills per set average in 66 sets played for the squad.

Sage will be back in action on March 24 and 25 at the Endicott College Spring Invitational. The Gators will face Johnson and Wales and #13 ranked SUNY-New Paltz on Saturday. The tournament wraps on Sunday with Sage facing Hilbert College and Stevenson University.
