RSC to send 4 Gators to 2023 AARTFC Championships

RSC TRACK TEAMS QUALIFY FOUR FOR 2023 ALL-ATLANTIC REGION TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIP

Albany, NY--Russell Sage College men's and women's outdoor track and field teams have had four student-athletes qualify for the 2023 All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Championships which will take place May 17-18 at Susquehanna University (Selinsgrove, PA).

Senior John Coddington (Amsterdam, NY/Broadalbin-Perth) will compete in the hammer toss and the shotput events on May 18. He holds the school record in the hammer toss with his mark of 52.49 meters and this past week finished as the runner-up at the 2023 Empire 8 Championships with his qualifying throw of 15.26 meters, another school record.

Sophomore Kaiden Simpson (Bennington, VT/Mt. Anthony Union) broke the school record and finished with an impressive third place showing in the javelin at the Empire 8 Championships. That throw earned him a qualifying spot in the javelin which will take place on May 17.

Junior Mackenzie Feeney (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) will compete in the 1,500 meter run on May 18. She posted a school record time as she picked up third in the 1,500 meter run in 4:59.35 while running at the 2023 Empire 8 Championship. Feeney also holds RSC school records in the 800 meter run (2:25.52) and a member of the 4 x 400 relay team that posted a time of 4:32.75 at the 2023 E8 championships.

Sophomore Elizabeth Ingellis (Kingston, NY/Kingston) earned a qualifying spot in the 10,000 meter run. She earned her spot after recording a time of 39:22.01 after finishing in fourth place in the event at the 2023 Empire 8 Championship. A school-record holder in the 5,000 meter (18:47.48), she will compete on May 17.
