RSC wraps E 8 Championships as Coddington takes second in the shot put

Utica, NY--Russell Sage College men's outdoor track and field team wrapped up competition on Saturday, while in action at the 2023 Empire 8 Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Utica University. Nazareth College won the men's team crown, while the Gators finished in sixth place in the team standings.

Senior John Coddington (Amsterdam, NY/Broadalbin-Perth) finished in second place in the shot put with a school record throw of 15.26 meters, bettering his own record of 15.07 meter. He also took home 12th in the discus on Saturday with his throw of 34.85 meters. For the meet, he was the runner-up in both the hammer throw and the shot put.

Rookie Noah Rivera (Monroe, NY/Monroe Woodbury) was sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 12.66 meters.

Sophomore David Adadjo (Nassau, NY/Columbia) took home 15th place in the 200 meter run in 23.61 and was also seventh in the triple jump with his mark of 12.52 meters.

RSC picked up sixth in the 4 x 400 relay with a time of 3:43.67 as rookies Chris Pelligrini (Loudonville, NY/Colonie) and Dominic Harkness (Morrisonville, NY/Saranac), teamed with sophomore Isaac Langer (Hudson, NY/Taconic Falls) and Adadjo.
