Coddington wins a pair of events and breaks school records as Gators shine at Bobbi Palma Invitational

Albany, NY--Russell Sage College men's outdoor track and field squad competed Friday night at the University at Albany's Bobbi Palma Invitational. By night's end, the Gator men had two new marks in the record book.

Senior John Coddington (Amsterdam, NY/Broadalbin-Perth) won two events and broke two school records at the meet. First he won the hammer toss with a school mark of 52.49 to break his own mark of 49.49 meters. He then took a first in the shot put with a throw of 14.88 meters, breaking his previous best throw of 14.79 meters. He also added a fourth place showing in the discus to wrap his night with a toss of 39.11 meters.

Sophomore Kaiden Simpson (Bennington, VT/Mt. Anthony Union) was second in the javelin with a throw of 44.00 meters. He was also ninth in the hammer with a mark of 28.85 meters.

Rookie Noah Rivera (Monroe, NY/Monroe Woodbury) was sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 12.52 meters and finished in 10th in the long jump with his jump of 6.06 meters.

Sophomore David Adadjo (Nassau, NY/Columbia) took home fifth in the 400 meter dash in 52.59 and freshman Chris Pellegrini (Loudonville, NY/Colonie) was 11th in the 800 meter run in 2:13.55.  

Also running in the 800 meter run, rookie Dominic Harkness (Morrisonville, NY/Saranac) was 10th in 55.31 and sophomore Isaac Langer (Hudson, NY/Taconic Hills) was 12th in 1:00.80. In the javelin, Langer picked up fourth place with a throw of 31.21 meter.

Sophomore Randal Johnson (East Orange, NJ/East Orange) picked up eighth in the hammer toss (29.49 meters) and seventh in the shot put with a throw of 7.79 meters.  Rookie Elijah Gustave (Brooklyn, NY/Cristo Rey-Brooklyn) was 23rd in the 200 meter in 27.36.

RSC's 4 x 400 meter relay foursome picked up third in 3:51.79 behind the efforts of Adadjo, Harkness, Langer and Pelligrini.

The Gators are back in action on April 29 competing at the Capital District Championship at RPI that commences at 11:00 a.m. next Saturday.
