Records fall for RSC Men's Track Team at Utica Invitational

Utica, NY--Russell Sage College men's and women's outdoor track and field teams were in action at the Utica University Pioneer Invitational. Both teams finished in sixth place in a field of 12 teams. The Gators had an impressive meet highlighted by some top performances and a few school records along the way.

Sophomore Kaiden Simpson (Bennington, VT/Mt. Anthony Union) recorded a throw of 39.51 meters in the javelin. He broke the record set in 2014 by Taylor McMillen of 38.56 and took home 12th place.

Senior John Coddington (Amsterdam, NY/Broadalbin-Perth) broke the school record in the hammer with an automatic qualify performance of 49.49., breaking his own mark from a year ago of 46.36 meters. He was second in the shot put with his toss of 14.56 meters and was also sixth in the discus with a throw of 38.49 meters.

Rookie Noah Rivera (Monroe, NY/Monroe Woodbury) was fourth in the triple jump of 12.01 meters and picked up sixth in the long jump with a leap of 6.05 meters. He was also 26th in the 100 meter dash in 12.11.

Sophomore David Adadjo (Nassau, NY/Columbia) was 10th in the 100 and 200 meter dashes. In the 100, he posted a time of 11.60 and as well as a time of 23.58 in the 200 meters.

Sophomore Isaac Langer (Hudson, NY/Taconic Hills) was 18th in the javelin with a throw of 30.94 meters. He picked up 29th in the 800 meter run in 2:32.15.

Rookie Dominic Harkness (Morrisonville, NY/Saranac) was 33rd in the 200 meter dash in 25.96 and rookie Elijah Gustave (Brooklyn, NY/Cristo Rey-Brooklyn) 32nd in the 100 meter dash in 12.96.

The Gators were fourth in the 4 x 400 relay with a time of 3:46.30 behind the efforts of Harkness, Langer, freshman Chris Pellegrini (Loudonville, NY/Colonie), and Adadjo. In the 4 x 100 relay, RSC took home sixth in 47.96 behind the efforts of Simpson, Rivera, Harkness, and Adadjo.

The Gators are back in action on April 14 competing at the RPI Twighlight Meet at 3 p.m.
