ALBANY, N.Y. – Sophomore Kaiden Simpson (Bennington, VT/Mount Anthony Union) and junior Giuliana Capparello (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) represent Russell Sage College Track and Field on the Empire 8 Conference Sportsmen and Sportswomen of the Year teams.

Simpson competed in the weight throw and 60m dash this winter, qualifying for the E8 Championships in the weight throw.  Capparello ran the 60m dash and 200m dash, and competed in the long jump for the Gators.

Two members of each institution make the 2022-23 E8 Indoor Track and Field Sportsmen and Sportswomen of the Year Teams. The Empire 8 Conference emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission. These honorees distinguish themselves by consistently exhibiting the critical traits as outstanding sportsmen and sportswomen.
