ALBANY, N.Y. –  Russell Sage College senior thrower John Coddington (Amsterdam, NY/Broadalbin-Perth) was selected the Empire 8 Conference Field Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sunday, January 22.

At Saturday's Middlebury Winter Classic, Coddington won the weight throw with a toss of 16.47m.  The heave bettered his program record in the event.

He finished fourth in the shot put with a mark of 13.17m.

Looking ahead, the Gators compete next on Saturday at the Utica Blue and Orange Invitational.
