Another school record for Coddington as Gators compete at Bobbi Palma Classic

Albany, NY –  Russell Sage College's men's outdoor track and field teams competed on Saturday at the Bobbi Palma Spring Classic at the University at Albany. A non-team scored meet, RSC had another school record performance at the event.

Junior captain John Coddington (Amsterdam, NY/Broadalbin-Perth) finished in second place in the hammer throw with a school mark of 44.54 meters. He bettered his record from last week's meet of a throw of 41.18 meters. He added a fifth place finish in the discus throw with a performance of 36.36 meters.

In the 5,000 meter run, junior Joe Degiorgio (Troy, NY/Troy) took home fourth place in 16:35.23.

Freshman Randal Johnson (East Orange, NJ/East Orange) picked up ninth in the hammer with his throw of 23.92 meters.

Senior Tyler Mitchell (Bronx, NY/All Hallows) finished in fifth in the long jump with a mark of 6.46 meters, while senior Deshawn Fleary (Newark, NJ/Immaculate Conception Montclair) was 11th in the event with a performance of 5.20 meters. Mitchell was also 14th in the 100 meter dash in 11.86, while Fleary was 22nd in 13.22.

Senior Brett LaBier (Albany, NY/Colonie) added a time of 5:12.08 and picked up 10th in the 1,500 meter run. In the 800 meter run, rookie Isaac Langer (Hudson, NY/Taconic Hills) finished in 20th in 2:24.92.

Looking ahead, RSC competes on April 30 at RPI in the Capital District Championship.
