Albany, NY– Russell Sage College's men's indoor track and field performer junior captain John Coddington (Amsterdam, NY/Broadalbin-Perth) was named to the 2022 United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region Team. To earn All-Region honors, an athlete must be one of the top-5 individuals in their event in their respective region on the TFRRS Descending Order List. In addition, each member of a region's top-3 relay team was selected for the distinction.
Coddington, the 2022 Empire 8 runner-up in both the shot put and the weight throw, also competed at the 2022 AATFCC Championship at Nazareth College on March 4-5. While competing in the shot put, he posted toss of 13.61 meters and finished in 12th place. Over the course of the indoor season, Coddington established school records in both the shot put and the weight throw. A 2022 Empire 8 All-Conference Second Team pick, he is the program's first All-Region performer. He recorded the second best throw in the shot put (14.75 meters) and fourth-best weight throw performance (15.81 meters) on the season in the Mideast Region.
