Four more records fall as RSC competes at Nazareth Conference Tune-up Meet

ROCHESTER –  Russell Sage College's men's indoor track and field squad turned in multiple noteworthy performances while competing on Friday evening at the Nazareth College Tune Up Meet at the Golisano Training Center.  By meet's end, the Gators had penned four school records at the meet.

On the men's side, freshman Isaac Langer (Hudson, NY/Taconic Hills) took 10th in 3:16.22 to break his school record (3:17.11) in the 1,000 meter run, while fellow runner Labier was next in 11th in 3:29.67. Langer also had a time of 2:24.89 while running in the 800 meter run.

Junior captain John Coddington (Amsterdam, NY/Broadalbin-Perth), this week's Empire 8 Track Performer of the Week, bettered his own record throw in the shot put taking fifth with a put of 14.41 meters.  He also bettered his own record in the weight throw taking eighth with his throw of 15.58 meters, bettering his previous effort of 15.48 meters from last week.

Freshman Zakhariah Chowdhury (Hudson, NY/Hudson) had a jump of 5.68 meters in the long jump setting a school record as he bettered the old mark of 4.70 meters.

Rookie David Adadjo (Nassau, NY/Columbia) clocked in at 23.65 the 200m to take 20th place, while teammate Armon Khalek (Hudson, NY/Hudson) had a time of 28.46 in the event. In the 60 meter invitational race, Adadjo posted a time of 7.47 but did not advance to the finals of the event.

Senior Brett Labier (Albany, NY/Colonie) ran a time of 5:55.68 while running in the mile for the Gators, while Khalek  competed in the 60meter dash adding a performance of 8.41 seconds in his event.

In the 3,000 meter run, junior Joe Degiorio (Troy, NY/Troy) picked up 24th in 9:51.14.

Looking ahead, RSC competes next on Friday and Saturday, February 25 and 26 at the 2022 Empire 8 Indoor Track and Field Championships, which will take place at Utica University.
