Three school records added to Gator resume at Utica Meet

Utica, NY — The Russell Sage College's men's indoor track and field team competed on Saturday at the Utica College Pioneer Invitational. RSC's men's teams set three school records. 

Lock Haven won the men's team title with 113 points as RSC was sixth with 42 points in the 14-team field of competitors.

Rookie David Adadjo (Nassau, NY/Columbia) set two more school records on Saturday. The first in the 200 meter dash as he was fourth in 23.48 beating his time of 23.74 from last week's race at Utica. He was also second in the triple jump with a leap of 12.76 meters besting his effort from a week ago of 12.12 meters.

In the 4 x 200 relay, the Gators posted a time of 1:44.82 to set the standard as rookie Zakhariah Chowdhury (Hudson, NY/Hudson), junior co-captain Michael Cichy (Selkirk, NY/Broadalbin-Perth), freshman Isaac Langer (Hudson, NY/Taconic Hills) and Adadjo ran the relay.

RSC's junior captain John Coddington (Amsterdam, NY/Broadalbin-Perth) was second in the shot put with his toss of 13.49 meters, while also taking fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 14.48 meters.

Sophomore Dominic Nova (Rensselaer, NY/Columbia) finished in eighth place in the mile run in 4:31.37. Junior Joe Degiorgio (Troy, NY/Troy) picked up 12th in the 5,000 meter run with his time of 17:20.53.

In the 400 meter run, Cichy was 20th in 59.08 and Langer picked up 21st place in 59.83. Langer was also 26th in the 800 meter run in 2:28.89. Freshman Armon Khalek (Hudson, NY/Hudson) posted a time of 27.91 to take 41st in the 200 meter run as well, while Chowdhury was fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 12.24 meters and also 11th in the long jump (5.70 meters).

Rookie Cole Perry (Rotterdam, NY/Schalmont) was 27th in the weight throw with his performance of 9.69 meters and freshman Randal Johnson (East Orange, NJ/East Orange) was 29th with a toss of 8.90 meters. Johnson was also 22nd in the shot put with a toss of 8.73 meters.

RSC is back in action on February 11-12 travelling to the Valentine Invitational, hosted by Boston University.
