Adadjo breaks three school records at Utica's Blue & Orange Meet

Utica, NY — The Russell Sage College's men's indoor track and field team competed on Saturday at the Utica College Blue and Orange Meet. The Gators continue to establish school records with each passing week as they set four more school records on Saturday. The men's team finished in 12th place in a field of 16 teams. RPI won the men's team title with 113.5 points as the Gators racked up 12 points on the day.

Rookie David Adadjo (Nassau, NY/Columbia) won his heat in the 400 meters with a time of 53.77 to break as school record and finished 11th overall in the race. He broke the record of 53.92 set in March at the 2021 Empire 8 Indoor Championships by Ellis Richardson. He also broke his own school record in the triple jump as he was fifth with a performance of 12.12 meters, bettering his performance of 12.10 meters set earlier this year. He added a 12th place finish in the 200 meter run in 23.74, breaking his own school record of 23.83 set last month in the first meet of his career at Springfield College.

RSC's junior captain John Coddington (Amsterdam, NY/Broadalbin-Perth) set a school record in the shot put as he finished in sixth place with a throw of 14.07 meters, bettering the Gator school mark of 14.01 meters he set back in December at the Springfield College Opener.  In the weight throw, he had a toss of 15.11 meters to finish in seventh place as he just missed tying his own school record of 15.12 meters.

Sophomore Dominic Nova (Rensselaer, NY/Columbia) finished in sixth place in the mile run with his performance of 4:37.12. He was also 22nd in the 800 meter run in 2:13.90.

Also running in the 800 meter run, rookie Isaac Langer (Hudson, NY/Taconic Hills) finished in 28th in 2:27.71, while senior Brett LaBier (Albany, NY/Colonie) posted a time of 2:31.29 and finished 30th.

Junior Joe Degiorgio (Troy, NY/Troy) picked up 27th place in the 3,000 meter run with his time of 9:56.75.

Rookie Cole Perry (Rotterdam, NY/Schalmont) had a mark of 8.16 meters while competing in the shot put to take 41st place. He picked up 36th in the weight throw with a performance of 8.43 meters.

In the men's 4 x 400 meter relay, RSC was 10th behind the efforts of Nova, Adadjo, Degiorgio, and LaBier in a time of 3:59.66.

RSC is back in action on February 5 travelling to Utica College once again to compete in the Pioneer Invitational next Saturday.
