RSC Opens at Springfield College

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. –  Russell Sage College began its indoor track and field season on Saturday at Springfield College. The Gators, competing in just their fourth indoor meet as a program, tallied a few standout performances on the day.

Junior John Coddington (Hudson, NY/Hudson) won the shot put and weight throw events. He achieved a mark of 14.01 meters in the shot put and threw the weight 15.12m.

Freshman David Adadjo (Nassau, NY/Columbia) registered a trio of top-12 finishes. He took fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 12.10m and fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.82. The newcomer was 12th in the 60m dash with a 7.33 clocking.

Adadjo, along with junior Michael Cichy (Selkirk, NY/Broadalbin-Perth) and rookies Armon Khalek (Hudson, NY/Hudson), and Isaac Langer (Hudson, NY/Taconic Hills), teamed up to place seventh in the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:00.16.

Freshman Zakhariah Chowdhury (Hudson, NY/Hudson) also finished in the top-ten this morning. He was eighth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.70m.

Looking ahead, RSC competes next on January 22 at the Middlebury Invitational.
