Arnoldo “AJ” Burnett was a newcomer to the 2019 Gator track and field team and arrived at Sage after starting his collegiate career at Bethany College (WV).
He came to Sage after a year at Hudson Valley Community College, where he competed as a member of the cross country team and was among the Top Five place finishers for the Vikings.
As a member of last year’s track squad, he helped the team set new school marks in the 4 x 100 (45.00) and the 4 x 400 relays (3:36.82).
Among his personal best performances, he posted a time of 56.34 at the Carla Coffey Invitational in the 400 while finishing 11th. At the MSMC Invitational, he had a throw of 37.65 meters in the javelin and finished 10th. Burnett also posted a time of 12.24 in the 100 meter dash and a time of 24.60 in the 200, while competing at the Capital District Championship at RPI.
He was also named to the 2019 Empire 8 Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Sportsmanship Team.
This past fall, he competed as a member of the cross country program, competing in four races adding a 35th place finish in his first race of the season at Vassar College and had a personal best time of 16:08.9 for the 3 k course. At the SUNY-Cobleskill Warde Invitational he added a time of 34:35.2 for his best time at an 8 k course.
