Three Gator marks fall for Sage men at UAlbany Spring Classic

Albany, NY— The Sage Colleges' men's outdoor track and field squad was in action on Saturday at the UAlbany Spring Classic and once again the Gator men's and women's team continued their streak of breaking school records at the meet as they have now changed the Gator record book in five straight meets.

For the Gator men's team, a school record was set in the men's 4 x 400 relay for the third  straight week as they bettered last week's record time. The Gators ran a 3:36.82 on Saturday to take third at the UAlbany Spring Classic behind the efforts of sophomore Ellis Richardson (Hudson, NY/Hudson), rookie Tyler Mitchell (Bronx, NY/All Hallows), rookie Ramosaj Williams (Hyde Park, NY/Franklin D. Roosevelt), and junior Arnoldo Burnett (Bronx, NY/John F. Kennedy). They bettered last week's time of 3:41.09.

The Gators also finished in third in the 4 x 100 relay and broke the Sage record as well with a time of 45.00, bettering the old mark of 46.46 from 2015. The relay consisted of Williams, Burnett, Mitchell and Richardson.

Richardson was 11th in the 800 meter run with his school record time of 2:04.74 beating his own record set in March of 2:05.19.

Senior captain Jarryd Wick (Ayers, MA/E.F. Parker School) was 20th in the 1,500 meter run in 4:59.56.

Williams took 11th in the 100 meter dash in 11.57 and 13th in the 200 meter run with a time of 23.74. In the 200 meter run, Burnett added a 17th place showing in the 24.09, while Mitchell took 19th in 24.17 and Richardson was 21st in 24.37.

Rookie Trevor Hill (Hudson Falls, NY/Hudson Falls) was 10th in the discus with his performance of 28.36 meters. Burnett picked up third in the javelin with a throw of 34.59 meters
