Sage men's track teams continue to break records

Delhi, NY— The Sage Colleges' men's track and field team competed on Saturday at the SUNY-Delhi Bronco Invitational. For the second straight week, the Gators broke school records.

For the Gator men's team, a school record was set in the men's 4 x 400 relay for the second straight week as they bettered last week's record time. The Gators ran a 3:41.09 on Saturday to take seventh at the Delhi meet behind the efforts of sophomore Ellis Richardson (Hudson, NY/Hudson), rookie Ramosaj Williams (Hyde Park, NY/Franklin D. Roosevelt), rookie Tyler Mitchell (Bronx, NY/All Hallows) and junior Arnoldo Burnett (Bronx, NY/John F. Kennedy). They bettered last week's time of 3:43.45.

Richardson was third for the Gators in the 400 meter run in 51.43 to break the Gators' record he set a year ago at the Empire 8 Championship with a time of 52.06.

Senior captain Jarryd Wick (Ayers, MA/E.F. Parker School) was 20th in the 800 meter run in 2:22.27and 27th in the 1,500 meter run in 4:56.14.

Williams took 11th in the 100 meter dash in 12.08 and 13th in the 200 meter run with a time of 24.04. Richardson was 8th in the 200 meter run in 24.04, while Burnett added a 14th place showing in the 200 meter run in 24.74.

Rookie Trevor Hill (Hudson Falls, NY/Hudson Falls) was 14th in the discus with his performance of 25.97 meters. He was 17th in the javelin with a throw of 24.99 meters. Burnett picked up fifth in the javelin with a throw of 34.98 meters

Sage's men's track team will be back in action on April 20 competing the University at Albany's Invitational.
