Richardson pens his name to the Sage men's record in the 800 meter run!

Marlboro, NY— The Gator men's track and field team broke a school record on Saturday while competing at the Mt. St. Mary College Invitational held at Marlboro High School. 

For the Gator men's team, sophomore Ellis Richardson (Hudson, NY/Hudson) posted a seventh place finish in the 800 meter run with his impressive time of 2:05.19 to break the mark held by Zack Funk of 2:05.85 from the 2016 Wesleyan Invitational. In the 200 meter run, rookie Ramosaj Williams (Hyde Park, NY/Franklin D. Roosevelt) took 13th place in 23.83 and junior Arnoldo Burnett (Bronx, NY/John F. Kennedy) added a 20th in 24.45. The pair were also successful in the 100 meter run as Burnett was 19th in 12.20 and Williams followed in 12.24 to take 22nd place.

In the men's 1,500 meter run, senior captain Jarryd Wick (Ayers, MA/E.F. Parker School) took 25th place in 4:59.89. In the javelin throw, Burnett was 10th with his throw of 37.65 meters.

Sage's team will be back in action on April 6 at the Smith College Invitational.
