Rochester, NY—The Empire 8 Athletic Conference has announced the Track Athlete, Field Athlete, Rookie and Coach of the Year awards for the 2018 men's outdoor track and field season. The conference coaches vote on the awards. Sage's Men's track and field performer, senior Zack Bishop (Hudson Falls, NY/Hudson Falls) was named to the Sportsmanship Team.

In addition, one member of each team was named that institution's representative on the 2018 Men's Outdoor Track and Field Sportsman of the Year Team. Empire 8 emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportsmen.

Also honored this spring, Bishop was named the 2017-2018 Sage Male Dean Sharon Robinson Scholar-Athlete Award recipient. A member of the track team competing for Sage as a thrower, Bishop had a perfect 4.0 grade point average as a psychology major with a minor in diversity and social justice. Bishop graduated from Sage on May 12 and was also chosen as the valedictorian for Sage College of Albany.
In addition to his selection as the Dean Robinson Scholar-Athlete Award recipient, he was also named to Sage's Athletic Honor Society and has been nominated for the CoSIDA Academic All-District Track and Field Cross Country Team for his efforts in the classroom and on the track. Honored for his academic prowess, Bishop is a member of the Psi Chi Honor Society, the Alpha Kappa Delta Honor Society and the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
