Sage track and field teams compete at Capital District Championship

Troy, NY—The Sage Colleges' men's track squad competed at the 2017 Capital District Championships at RPI. Sage's men took home ninth place.

Leading the way for Sage's men's team was senior Anthony Williamson (Beacon, NY/Beacon) with a 10th in the high jump (1.70 meters), an 11th place finish in the 200 meter run in 23.51 and a 12th place showing in the 100 meter run in 11.65.

Rookie Anthony Mitchell (Bronx, NY/Salesian) was eighth in the high jump with a performance of 1.75 meters and added a 16th place finish in the long jump (5.51 meters) as well as a 29th place finish in the 100 meter run in 12.73.

Sophomore Jarryd Wick (Ayers, MA/E. F. Parker School) finished in 14th in the 5,000 meter run in 20:58.11, while senior Ian Alejandro (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) added a 43rd place finish in the 800 meter with his time of 2:14.47.  

Junior Zaheer Ahmad (Queens, NY/Academy of Innovative Technology) added a 22nd place showing in the 200 meter run in 24.79 and picked up 28th in the 100 meter run in 12.32.

In the 100 meter run, junior Jacob Clouse (Coeymans, NY/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) picked up 31st in 16.41, while junior Barceem Dukes (Gloversville, NY/Gloversville) was 23rd in the shot put with his mark of 9.32 meters. Sophomore Zack Bishop (Hudson Falls, NY/Hudson Falls) picked up 26th in the shot put for Sage with toss of 8.61 meters.

The Gators will be back in action on May 5 when they travel to Vassar College to compete in the Matthew Vassar Meet.
