Sage Men's Track Team Wins ACP Meet to open season

Albany, NY—The Sage Colleges' men's track and field squad finally opened the 2017 season competing at the Albany College of Pharmacy Invitational. The meet saw Sage's men's team win the three-team meet

Sage's men's team won the team crown and was paced by the efforts of a number of different performers that had multiple first place finishes.

Senior Anthony Williamson (Beacon, NY/Beacon) opened the night with a first place in the 100 meter dash in 11.86 meters. He took first in the 200 meter dash in 25.27 and was second on the high jump (1.55 meters), as well as fourth in the long jump (4.39 meters).

Junior Frane Larose (Miami, FL/North Miami Beach Senior) was second in the 100 meter dash (12.73) as well as second in the 200 in 26.20.  He added a second place finish in the triple jump with his mark of 10.57 meters.

Rookie Anthony Mitchell (Bronx, NY/Salesian) won the 110 meter hurdles in 23.03. He added a third place finish in the high jump (1.45 meters), as well as a third in the long jump (5.13 meters). He was also second in the 200 meter dash in 28.13.

Senior Ian Alejandro (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) won the 800 meter run in 2:32.74, while junior Stephen Paulk (West Palm Beach, FL/Palm Beach Lakes) was 3rd in the same race in 2:46.37.

Sophomore Jarryd Wick (Ayers, MA/E. F. Parker School) finished in second place in 21:13.87 in the 5,000 meter run, while sophomore Malik McNeish (Bronx, NY/The Eagle Academy for Young Men) picked up a third in the 400 meter run in 1:02.87.

The Gators will be back in action on April 15 travelling to the Mt. Holyoke Invitational.
