Juan Reyes-Alvarez was a member of Sage’s inaugural men’s outdoor track and field team in 2013. He etched his name into the Gator track record book as he was the first Sage track and field competitor to win an individual event in 2014 when he won the 5,000M in 17:05.74 at Wesleyan University Swanson Invitational. The sophomore posted a 14th place finish at the Capital District Classic in the 5,000M with a 16:57.66. Reyes-Alvarez was on two record setting relay teams in the 3,200M relay (9:20) and the Sprint Medley relay (4:04)

In 2015, Reyes-Alvarez posted three top five finishes including a second at the Wesleyan University Swanson Classic (5,000M, 16:52.78), a third at the Capital District Classic (3,000M, 9:31,36) and a fifth at the Smith Pioneer Invitational (1,500M, 4:39.14).

Reyes-Alvarez has also had an outstanding cross country career at Sage. He is a two-time Skyline Men’s Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year, four-time Skyline First-Team and three-time Gator of the Year.

A graduate of Shaker High School, he participated in both cross country and track. In cross country he was part of a team that earned Federations, sectional and Suburban Council titles.

He is majoring in business at Sage, Reyes-Alvarez has been on the Dean’s List twice. He is involved in the Green Club, Commuter Relations and a Resident Assistant. Juan is the son of Juan and Veronica Alvarez.
