Crawford and Denny lead Gators at Vassar Meet

Poughkeepsie, NY –The Sage College's men's outdoor track and field squad was in action on Friday night at the Matthew Vassar Twighlight Meet at Vassar College.

Leading the way for Sage's men's team was graduate performer Anthony Crawford (Bronx, NY/Frederick Douglass Academy) as he had a pair of second place showings. He was second in the 100 meters (11.28) and the 200 meters in 23.03.

Sophomore Eric Denny (Scotia, NY/Scotia-Glenville) was second in the high jump with a performance of 1.77 meters and added second in the long jump (6.45 meters).

In the 200 meter dash, freshman Donald Edwards (Brooklyn, NY/James Westinghouse) took 15th in 25.20, while rookie Zaheer Ahmad (Queens, NY/Academy of Innovative Technology) was next in 17th in 25.90. Ahmad was also 15th in the 100 meters in 12.50. Freshman Jacob Clouse (Coeymans, NY/RCS) picked up 20th in the 100 meter dash in 15.66.

Sage also took 3rd in the 4 x 100 meter relay in 46.46 as Crawford, Ahmad, freshman Russell Cobane (Delhi, NY/Delaware Academy of Central School District at Delhi), and Edwards combined.
