Staten Island, NY –The Sage College's men's outdoor track and field team was in action at the Wagner College Invitational, a non-team scored meet.
In the men's competition, Sage's graduate student Anthony Crawford (Bronx, NY/Frederick Douglass Academy) took 12th in 11.66, while rookie Zaheer Ahmad (Queens, NY/Academy of Innovative Technology) collected 42nd place in 12.77 and Jacob Clouse took 56th in 15.92.
Crawford also added a 10th place finish in the 200 meter event in 23.66, while freshman Donald Edwards (Brooklyn, NY/James Westinghouse) took 31st in 25.60.
Sophomore Jonathan McNeil (Bloomfield, CT/Greater Hartford Classical Magnet) took 31st in 2:25.39 in the 800 meters run. In the 5,000 meter run, junior Juan Reyes-Alvarez (Latham, NY/Shaker) finished in 17th place in 17:49.31.
In the men's 4 x 100 relay, Sage took sixth in 46.75 as Crawford, graduate student James Carroll (Troy, NY/Home Schooled), sophomore Nicholas Haas, Jr. (Malone, NY/Franklin Academy), and sophomore Eric Denny (Scotia, NY/Scotia-Glenville) combined. The Gators also took sixth in the 4 x 400 relay in 3:56.70 as rookie Russell Cobane (Delhi, NY/Delaware Academy of Central School District at Delhi), graduate student Taylor McMillen (Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park), Edwards and Crawford combined.
In the men's high jump, Denny finished in sixth place with a performance of 1.80 meters.
In the shot put, Cobane took 25th with a performance of 8.54 meters, while McMillen took 27th with a toss of 8.06 meters. Senior Ronnie Reed, Jr. (Harlem, NY/Frederick Douglass Academy II) was 30th in the event with a toss of 7.43 meters.
McMillen was 23rd in the discus with a throw of 18.35 meters.
