Newburgh, NY—The Sage Colleges' men's tennis team opened the new season on Wednesday night traveling to Mt. St. Mary College for the first match of the year. The Knights recorded the 6-3 win to improve to 2-0, while Sage is 0-1 on the young season.

Sage's sophomore Mike Basile (Feeding Hills, MA/Agawam) and rookie Ryan Burke (Greenville, NY/Greenville) added an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles. Basile then posted a 6-2, 6-4 at the No. 5 spot in the singles ladder in the match. Junior Christian Rosario (Troy, NY/Troy) added a 6-2, 6-0 victory at sixth singles for Sage on the night.

Sage will return to action in the Spring with matches in late March.
