Albany, NY—The Sage College's department of athletics gathered to recognize and honor the outstanding performances of the 2016-2017 year with the naming of the athletic award winners for the 15 varsity athletic teams. Sage saluted the Most Outstanding Player in each sport with the Gator of the Year Award and also named the 2016-2017 Female and Male Athletes of the Year. Earning the Gator of the Year award in men's tennis was junior Nate Miller (Green Island, NY/Heatly).

As a member of the 2017 Sage men's tennis team, Miller was a first-year performer this year and posted a record of 1-12 in singles this spring.

Miller said of winning the honor, "Since this was my first time playing tennis, I had an awesome experience." Miller continued, "I was able to develop friendships with great teammates and my coaches helped me improve my game tremendously. I had a lot of fun this season and I can't wait for the next one!"
