Verona, NY—The Sage Colleges' men's tennis team visited Utica College on Wednesday for a non-conference match played at the Turning Stone Tennis Facility. The Pioneers opened their 2017 campaign with an 8-1 win over Sage. The Gators fall to 0-5 on the season.

For Sage, the lone win came at No. 5 singles as rookie Christian Rosario (Troy, NY/Troy) posted the win, beating Patrick Restuccio in three sets. He lost the first set, 4-6, but rallied to post a 6-3 win in the second set and them took the tie-breaker, 10-8.

Sage's next match is on April 8 travelling to Sarah Lawrence College in a Noon league match-up.
