Beaudin honored as men's tennis Gator of the Year

Albany, NY – The Sage College's department of athletics gathered to recognize and honor the outstanding performances of the 2014-2015 year with the naming of the athletic award winners for the 15 varsity athletic teams. In addition to awarding the Gator Award, for the Most Outstanding Player, the department also named the 2014-2015 Female and Male Athletes of the Year as well as the Dean Sharon Robinson Senior Male and Female Scholar-Athletes of the Year, which is given to the senior student-athlete with the highest overall grade point average.

In men's tennis, senior captain Gerard Beaudin (Delmar, NY/Home Schooled) was honored as the 2015 Gator of the Year.  Over the course of his career, Beaudin was a two-time team captain and a four-year letterwinner. He holds the all-time career singles mark for the men's program with his five career wins.

Head men's tennis coach Tom Fashouer said of Beaudin," Gerard completes his tennis career at Sage as a two-time team captain and the career leader in singles victories." He added, "Gerard has been a tremendous help to the coaching staff this season.  We are really going to miss his leadership next year."

Over the course of the 2015 season, Sage's men's tennis team created several new high-water marks under rookie Coach Fashouer. Sage recorded the program's first Skyline Conference win, while racking up two team wins, another Sage first. Two players recorded four singles wins to set a new standard for the most singles victories in a season.
