SAGE FALLS TO UTICA, 6-3 AS BEAUDIN POSTS HISTORIC VICTORY

 

Utica, NY – The Sage Colleges' men's tennis team travelled to Utica College on Sunday for a non-conference match. The host Pioneers picked up a 6-3 win over Sage as they improve to 1-8, while Sage drops to 1-8.

 

Senior Gerard Beaudin (Delmar, NY/Home Schooled) was a double winner for the gators as he picked up a key win at No. 1 singles, beating Dominick Trimarchi, 6-0, 6-3. With his win on Sunday, Beaudin became Sages' all-time singles winner for the young men's program as he now has five career singles' victories.

 

His day also included a win at No. 1 doubles as he teamed with rookie Troy Hansen (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) for an 8-3 win over Trimarchi and Ryan Valle.

 

Senior Katie Schultz (Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park) picked up a win at No. 3 singles for Sage as she beat Valle, 6-2, 7-5.

 

Sage returns to action on April 22 hosting Green Mountain College in a 4 p.m. match at Prospect Park.
