Gerard Beaudin Named 2014 Gator Award Winner in Men's Tennis

Albany, NY – The Sage College's department of athletics gathered to recognize and honor the outstanding performances of the 2013-2014 year with the naming of the athletic award winners for the 15 varsity athletic teams. In addition to awarding the Gator Award, for the Most Outstanding Player, the department also named the 2013-2014 Female and Male Athletes of the Year as well as the ECAC Merit Medal and the Dean Sharon Robinson Senior Male and Female Scholar-Athletes of the Year. Senior co-captain, Gerard Beaudin (Delmar, NY/Home Schooled) was tapped as the Gator Award winner for his efforts as a member of the men's tennis team.

Head men's tennis coach Bruce Perry said of Beaudin, "Gerard was forced into a position, where he had to play the best No. 1 players in our conference and our region." Perry continued, "He responded admirably, like a true Sage student-athlete!"

A three-year letterwinner in men's tennis, Beaudin played at No. 1 singles this year for Sage and also teamed at No. 1 doubles for the Gators. A team co-captain, he helped Sage over the course of the 2014 season both on and off the courts and has provided the young team with valuable leadership.
