Named the Rookie of the Year for the 2012 Sage men’s tennis team, Rob Hansen returns for his sophomore season after a strong start to his collegiate career.

Head Coach Bruce Perry said of Hansen, "Rob was a pleasant surprise to our team last season!" Perry added, "His willingness and desire to compete at the No. 2 position as a rookie is an indicator of his strong character."

Hansen added to the Sage lineup last season, playing mostly at No. 2 singles and teaming with Alex Cabrera at No. 1 doubles for nine matches in 2012.

A graduate of Niskayuna High School, Hansen participated in football, wrestling and track scholastically, earning all-league acclaim in football. 

He is majoring in biology at Sage and is the son of Christine Hansen.
