Adams, MA--- The Trailblazer of MCLA hosted the Gators of The Sage Colleges' in men's tennis action on Monday. MCLA picked up a 7-2 win to improve to 2-3 overall, while Sage drops to 0-9.

For the Gators, rookie Sean Alvarado (Shokan, NY/Onteora) picked up a win at No. 5 singles as he collected a three-set win over MCLA's rookie Brandon Peltier (Worcester, MA/Abby Kelley Foster), 2-6, 6-2, 10-6. He teamed at No. 3 doubles with sophomore Mark Castillo (Randolph, MA/Randolph) for a win as they beat MCLA's rookie Mitchell Mabardy (Hubbardston, MA/Quabbin Regional) and Peltier, 8-6.

MCLA's junior Daniel Nesti (Pittsfield, MA/Pittsfield) posted a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles over senior Alex Cabrera (Kingston, NY/Kingston). Nesti teamed at No. 1 doubles with rookie Taylor Krowitz (Lunenburg, MA/Lunenburg) for an 8-3 win over Cabrera and freshman Rob Hansen (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna).

The Gators return to action on Wednesday, April 18 for a 5 p.m. Skyline Conference match at Prospect Park when they host Purchase College.  MCLA will host Green Mountain College on April 18 at 3:30 p.m.
