Rutland, VT--- The Sage Colleges' men's tennis team travelled to Castleton State College for a non-conference match on Tuesday night. The host Spartans recorded the 9-0 win to improve to 1-2, while the loss puts Sage at 0-2.
For the Gators, senior Alex Cabrera (Kingston, NY/Kingston) fell 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles to CSC's Stew Quinn (Newton, NJ/Kittatinny Regional). Cabrera teamed at No. 1doubles with rookie Rob Hansen (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna), but fell to Quinn and Adam McCaffery (Niantic, CT/East Lyme), 8-2.
Hansen fell at No. 2 singles in a tight match against McCaffery, 6-4, 6-2.
Sage will be back in action on March 25 travelling to Yeshiva University for a noon Skyline Conference match to be held at Binghamton Racquet Club in Edgewater, NJ.
