Gators Blanked by Visiting Clarkson

ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College was blanked 3-0 by visiting Clarkson on Tuesday night at the ACP Athletic Complex.

The Golden Knights blitzed RSC early, taking the first nine shots of the non-conference contest. The visitors outshot RSC 21-4 on the night.

Senior goalkeeper Tyler Brennan (Albany, NY/Shaker) (Loss, 1-3-1) registered four saves, while senior forward El Hadji Iba Sy (Bronx, NY/Emma Lazarus) took a team-high three shots.

Freshman midfielder Jonathan Dereka scored twice to pace Clarkson (4-1-0).

Looking ahead, RSC (2-4-1) returns to Empire 8 Conference play on Saturday afternoon at Houghton.


Notes: The Gators, which have finished in the top half of the E8 Conference standings in three of the last four seasons, made their fourth appearance in the E8 Championship Tournament in 2022…RSC got off to its best-ever start in E8 play at 3-0-0, and established a program single-season record with five E8 victories during the debut campaign of head coach Amir Pasic.
