Gators Win on "Senior Night"

ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College scored once in each half to defeat visiting SUNY Cobleskill 2-0 on Wednesday night.

Senior midfielder/forward John Locicero (Gardiner, NY/Wallkill) and senior defender Jason Breznak (Waterford, NY/Shenendehowa), two of the five players that were recognized before the game as part of "Senior Night", teamed up to put the Gators on the board in the 34th minute.  A free kick taken by Locicero clanged off the post, right onto the foot of Breznak with a wide open goal in front of him.

RSC, which outshot the visiting Fighting Tigers (0-13-2) 18-1 and held an 8-1 advantage on corner kicks tonight, doubled its lead at the 50:59 mark. Freshman defender/midfielder Dominic Pelella (Wallkill, NY/Wallkill) headed a cross from freshman forward/midfielder Andrew Kraszewski (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville) into the top corner of the net.

Senior goalie Nolan Murphy (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) (Win, 1-0-1) and sophomore goalie Jordan Prouty (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) helped the Gators record their fifth clean sheet of the fall.
