Gators Win 4-1 at Sarah Lawrence

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – After opening the season with three-straight games on the home pitch, Russell Sage College hit the road for the first time this fall tonight and came away with a 4-1 non-conference victory at Sarah Lawrence.

Five players recorded points to help the Gators (2-1-1) win their second-straight game. Sophomore defender Kanon Tebo (Belgrade, MT/Belgrade) registered a goal and two assists to lead the output. The transfer from Fort Lewis College helped get RSC on the board early, sending a corner kick into the box for defender Eduardo Sanchez (Greenport, NY/Greenport), a graduate student, to head into the net just 8:34 into the contest.

From there, the Sage advantage on a former Skyline Conference rival stayed at 1-0 for more than 65 minutes. At the 73:44 mark, Tebo doubled the Gator lead by chipping a pass from freshman midfielder/forward Joe Piperata (Rensselaer, NY/Catholic Central) over the charging Sarah Lawrence keeper. The tally kicked off a run of three Sage goals in a 7:32 span.

Looking ahead, Sage goes for its third win in-a-row on Tuesday at SUNY-Canton. The non-conference game is set to begin at 6:00 pm. Meanwhile, Sarah Lawrence (1-3) hosts Medgar Evers on Monday at 7:00 pm.
