Plattsburgh proves to be too much for Gators

Albany, NY—The Gators of Russell Sage College hosted the Cardinals of Plattsburgh State on Tuesday night in a non-conference match-up. PSU held a2-0 lead at the break en route to the victory as they move to 3-3 on the year, while the loss puts the Gators at 3-3-1. 

Plattsburgh's senior midfielder Cameron Richards (Larchmont, NY/Mamorneck) scored a pair of goals in the contest for his first and second tally of the year.  Rookie midfielder Brian Coughlan (Pearl River, NY/Pearl River) added the game-winner for his fourth goal of the year and added an assist as he now has a team-best 12 points this fall.

Rookies Todd Healy (Amityvile, NY/Lenneberg Memorial) and Matthew Heimowitz (Great Neck, NY/Johh L. Miller Great Neck North) shared in the shutout win as Healy made three saves in his 63 minutes in goal.

In goal RSC's sophomore keepers  Nolan Murphy (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) and Tyler Brennan (Albany, NY/Shaker) shared time in the net.  Murphy recorded five saves with four goals allowed in nearly 58 minutes of work. He stands at stands at 0-2 in net. Brennan made two saves with one goal allowed in 32:39 minutes in net.  

RSC is back in action on September 25 traveling to Alfred University for a 4 p.m. Empire 8 contest.
