Pittsford, NY—Russell Sage College's men's soccer team travelled to St. John Fisher College for an Empire 8 contest on Friday afternoon. The Cardinals collected a 2-0 win over the Gators and are now 3-1 overall and 3-1 in the E8. RSC is now 2-1 overall and 2-1 in the league.
SJFC scored early into the action as Ben Woolingham tallied his third goal of the season on a feed from Justin Bonetto at 8:10. Matt Gentile scored the next goal at 64:44 on a pass from Antonio Robles to give the Cardinals a 2-0 lead that held up as the final score.
SJFC's Jadon Schlierf collected the shutout win as he turned recorded a pair of saves. RSC's rookie keeper Anthony Molina (Brentwood, NY/Brentwood) suffered the loss after making eight saves with two goals allowed. He is now 2-1 in net.
The Gators are back in action on April 5 hosting Alfred University a 7 p.m. Empire 8 contest at ACP Stadium.
