SAGE MEN'S SOCCER TEAM TO HOST ALFRED UNIVERSITY IN 2019 EMPIRE 8 MEN'S SOCCER SEMIFINALS
Albany, NY—Sage's men's soccer team earned the No. 2 seed in the 2019 Empire 8 Men's Soccer Tournament. Sage will host third seeded Alfred University on Wednesday, November 6 at ACP Stadium at 7 p.m. The Gators earned the No. 2 seed in the tournament after beating Alfred University earlier in the season on September 28, 2-1.
Nazareth earned the No. 1 seed in the tournament and will host fourth seeded Elmira College also on November 6 at 1 p.m. and the two semifinal winners will meet on November 9 at the home field of the highest remaining seeded team. The winner will garner the Empire 8's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Tickets for the semifinal will be $6 for adults, $4 for students, and children under age 12 are free. The gates will open on Wednesday at 6 p.m. for the contest.
This is Sage's second appearance in the Empire 8 Tournament after earning a bid in 2017 and advancing the championship match, only to fall to top seeded Stevens in the finals.
